DEM Party mayor referred to disciplinary board with final expulsion request: "His egocentric mentality and..."
Jiyan Ormanlı, who was elected as the mayor of Şırnak's Silopi district from the DEM Party in the March 31, 2024 Local Elections, was referred to the party disciplinary board with a request for permanent expulsion .
In a statement made by the DEM Party, it was stated that Ormanlı had developed resistance to the co-chairmanship system, adopted a self-centered management approach instead of a shared management culture and did not recognize party decisions. It was also stated that he could not meet the demands and expectations of the people in municipal activities and that he had implemented practices that were not consistent with the party's local government policies.
For these reasons, it was reported that an application was made to the DEM Party Central Disciplinary Board with a "definite expulsion" request regarding Ormanlı. It was announced that the details and results of the issue will be shared with the public after the disciplinary process is completed.
